30th Celebration Boxes Revealed at Japan Championships — Espeon ex, Umbreon ex & Pikachu ex Are Here!

30th Celebration Japan Championships 2026 — Espeon ex, Umbreon ex, Pikachu ex

The Pokémon TCG is turning 30, and Japan just showed us exactly how they plan to celebrate. During the annual Japan Championships, two brand-new 30th Celebration products were officially unveiled — and the cards inside are already sending the collector community into a frenzy.

Here at No Bulk Cards, we're keeping a close eye on everything coming out of Japan so you know exactly what to watch for, what to rip, and what to ship. Let's break it all down.

The 30th Celebration Futuristic Box — Two Pikachu ex Promos

The first product dropping is the "30th Celebration Futuristic Box", set to release in Japan on September 16th, 2026 — the same day as the main 30th Celebration set. Priced at 27,500 yen (approximately $171 USD), this premium box is loaded with accessories and features two exclusive Pikachu ex "Futuristic Rare" promo cards — one themed around day, one around night.

Both Pikachu ex cards are Lightning-type with 190 HP, and their attacks are genuinely interesting for competitive play:

Day Pikachu exPika Pika Parade: Search your deck for as many Basic Pokémon as you like and put them onto your Bench. Then shuffle your deck. Plus the classic Thunderbolt for 200 damage (discard all attached Energy).

Night Pikachu exShocking Fever: Attach as many Basic Energy cards from your hand to your Pokémon in any way you like. Then Thunder for 200 damage with 30 recoil to itself.

The Bench-flooding ability on Day Pikachu ex pairs dangerously well with Sylveon ex — the community is already sounding the alarm. These are the kind of promo cards that define formats, and getting them early through a rip & ship is exactly how NBC does it.

The Espeon ex & Umbreon ex 30th Celebration Premium Deck Set

The second product is the one collectors have been waiting for since the set was first teased months ago: the "Espeon ex and Umbreon ex 30th Celebration Premium Deck Set". At 6,200 yen (approximately $39 USD), this is the more accessible of the two products, but don't let the price fool you — the cards inside are anything but budget.

The set includes two complete 60-card decks, each built around a Special Illustration Rare of either Espeon ex or Umbreon ex. These SIR cards are already being called some of the most beautiful artwork in the 30th Celebration lineup.

Espeon ex (Psychic, 260 HP) — Sunshine Beat: 30× damage for every Pokémon you have in play. With a full Bench, that's 210 damage from a Stage 1. Weakness to Darkness and only 1 Retreat make it a glass cannon that rewards aggressive Bench-building.

Umbreon ex (Darkness, 270 HP) — Lunatic Claw: 100 base damage, plus 140 more if the opponent's Active Pokémon has any damage counters. That's a potential 240 damage swing on a Stage 1 Eeveelution. The synergy with chip damage strategies is obvious and terrifying.

The decks also include Illustration Rares of Zeraora and Victini (not yet revealed), as well as supporting Pokémon like Zorua, Zoroark, Cherubi, Cherrim, and Eevee — all with clean, playable attacks.

Zoroark's Night Escape Route ability deserves a special mention: it reduces your Active Pokémon's Retreat Cost by two Colorless Energy while Zoroark sits on the Bench. That kind of passive utility is exactly what makes support Pokémon worth hunting.

What This Means for English Players

TPCi has already confirmed that the regular prints of these cards will appear in the main English 30th Celebration set. The Special Illustration Rares for Espeon ex and Umbreon ex, along with the Futuristic Rare Pikachu ex cards, are expected to be English promos released within special boxed products alongside the set — similar to how Japan is handling them.

The numbering structure strongly suggests a "Day" product featuring Pikachu ex + Espeon ex and a "Night" product featuring Pikachu ex + Umbreon ex. If that's the case, these will be among the most sought-after sealed products of 2026.
